Registered Nurse RN - Mother Baby - FT Nights

Job Description Job Summary Assumes responsibility for facilitating and coordinating the admission process for patients presenting in Admitting, Emergency Department and Same Day Surgery.
Works collaboratively with the Directors of Patient Care Services and nursing staff to integrate and assure the achievement of nursing practice standards, and initiates the nursing process while meeting the initial needs of the newly admitted patient.
Minimum Qualifications Education/Training Valid RN license in the State of Maryland.
Experience 1 year RN experience (acute nursing experience).
License/Certification/Registration CPR certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated ability to precept.
Demonstrated high level of competence.
Excellent situational assessment skills.
Effective interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
Basic math skills.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Assists in formulating and monitoring performance improvement criteria for the admitting process.
Provides in-service training to staff.
Assists other members of the nursing team and/or other disciplines.
Assists physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to patient care.
Communicates patient's clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and written format.
Clearly and accurately documents pertinent information in the patient's medical record.
Consistently demonstrates effective documentation practices and develops strategies to ensure complete documentation of patient care.
Completes the nursing admission database and patient assessment, including pain and skin assessments.
Formulates a primary nursing diagnosis and knowledge deficit diagnosis based on data collected during the patient interview and assessment data.
Initiates appropriate pathway according to existing policies, procedures, protocols and standards.
Consistently demonstrates effective leadership behavior.
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Seeks opportunities to participate in developing, revising standards of practice to meet changing patient population requirements.
Ensures acquisition of admitting orders and initiates STAT and urgent medications or treatments as appropriate.
Informs physician and/or appropriate personnel regarding significant or adverse patient outcomes.
Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient/family in accordance with hospital standards.
Demonstrates to patient comfort, privacy, and spiritual and religious needs.
Identifies and acts upon opportunities to improve the environment of care.
Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Provides a variety of nursing administrative duties.
Maintains required reports, records, statistics, etc.
Provides an overview of the hospital's services, including room and/or unit orientation.
Provides for the emotional support of patients and families during the crisis of illness.
Models patient/family advocacy.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
